Review

The Epson EcoTank ET-8550 is the one of the latest ecotank photo printers from Epson. It’s the most economical way to print photos I’ve reviewed. The ecotank lives up to its name and will save time and money. Lower operating costs will make up the initial cost any day.

This photo inkjet printer is unique in a few ways. First, it’s capable of full bleed on 13 x 19 in paper. Full bleed 13 x 19 is usually reserved for inkjet printers or high end color copiers.

Canon PIXMA TS5320

Review

The Canon PIXMA TS5320 is a budget oriented all in one wireless inkjet printer. It is ideal for a small or home office that doesn’t want to spend a lot of money but needs a quality printer. This printer won’t let you down. It isn’t the fastest but does make good quality prints for the price. The standard ink cartridges cost about average for this segment of printer but have below average yields. XL cartridges are available for a few dollars more but with over double the yield.

Review

The Canon PIXMA TR7020 is an entry level all in one wireless inkjet printer. It is ideal for a small or home office that doesn’t have much room. There are a fair amount of features for the small size and price. It isn’t the fastest printer but does make good quality prints for its compact size. Cartridges are a bit pricey but for low volume printing this isn’t a big deal. It would take thousands of pages of printing to add up to a significant amount.

The Canon Pixma G3260 is one of their latest megatank all in one printers. For what it costs and does it’s represents a great value if you just want a basic no frills printer. Megatank printers are so cost effective they make tri color ink cartridges obsolete. Monthly ink programs (HP instant ink) may keep tri color cartridges around a bit longer but supertank printers address the same issues.

Today, we take a look at Canon’s new Ivy Mini Photo Printer, a portable zero ink printer. Being a printer tech, the first thing I noticed about this printer is that it isn’t an inkjet or laser process. It’s thermal imaging. The magic is in the paper. The colors are in the paper and heat brings them out. But enough about the technical blather, this is a portable photo printer about the size of smart phone!

Experience

Our products are assessed by someone with experience repairing them. Of course that experience is mainly fixing laser and inkjet printers. But also wax, thermal, and even dot matrix printers. Any insights are conveyed from those experiences.

Products

Our main focus is printers. Laser printers. Inkjet printers. If it passes paper it will probably be covered at some time on this site. Additional products include paper, document scanners, software, or all in ones. Furthermore, types of paper include: Inkjet paper, laser paper, copy paper, and transfer paper. Plans are to include more tech products in the future.

Experience

There reviews are designed to help people shopping for printers, paper, document scanners, or software. Small offices and home offices are the target audience. However, the casual home printer user will also benefit from these reviews. Anyone who uses a printer can benefit from these product reviews.

Final Note

Our reviews tend to focus on durability, quality, and cost of supplies. Not that other features aren’t important, just that many are straightforward. People know whether they could use a fax option or whether the dimensions are a problem. If in our experience we see a noteworthy trait it will be mentioned. All reviews are done with the end user’s experience in mind. We want you to get the most from the printer you are buying so you will continue to come back to this site.

It wouldn’t be right to review my own book on my own site. However, I can at least mention it. Check it out on Amazon!

The Printer JAM is not affiliated with any manufacturer. We are an Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart affiliate. Truth be told, we have our favorite brands and some we despise. However, we are also capable of setting aside those biases and giving each printer before us a fair assessment. For example, should XXXXX ever actually make a printer and not a hunk of plastic pretending to be printer, we would give it a fair review. Kidding, we like all the manufacturers, certain models however…
